Naples, FL - January 22, 2011

Easy week. I started off on Monday teaching my PowerPoint seminar in Toronto. Had Tuesday off to deal with administrative stuff. Wednesday, Nancy and I flew to our winter home in Naples, Florida. Pleasant evening and then early to bed as my alarm was set for 2:45 am. Drove from Naples to the Florida Keys for two days of time with my K2 Partners. Thursday the five of us went fishing. Had a great time and caught about 18 fish including a small reef shark. What a great day. Friday, we worked on our 2011 planning.

Next week I fly home to Brampton for a full teaching week. Seminars in Mississauga, Toronto and Kitchener. I'm ready for a little work after taking five weeks off.

This week I teach seminars in Vancouver on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and then finish the week in Regina and Saskatoon. Two more weeks and I'll be finished for the year. I'ts been a busy but productive fall. I'm looking forward to a relaxing Christmas with Nancy and family.

 

Vancouver, BC - December 5, 2010

Busy week last week. Started the week in Winnipeg and chaired a technology confernce for CGA Manitoba. Then it was off to Edmonton and Calgary for my Advanced Excel courses. Finished the week in Vancouver where I co-taught our Excel Financial Reporting seminar with Shelley Beck. That was the first time she had taught that course and she did really well. Then I spent the weekend in Vancouver. I don't stay over a weekend very often, but it wasn't worth it to fly home for one day.

This week I teach seminars in Vancouver on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and then finish the week in Regina and Saskatoon. Two more weeks and I'll be finished for the year. I'ts been a busy but productive fall. I'm looking forward to a relaxing Christmas with Nancy and family.

Ottawa, ON November 21, 2010

Busy week last week. Started the week in Halifax and taught three seminars there during the annual CA Nova Scotia professional development week. Big numbers for all three days and I got excellent ratings. Thursday, I was in the office cleaning off the pile of paper on my desk. Tough to keep up with my busy travel schedule. Friday, I flew to Ottawa for the day to do my Excel Financial Reporting course.

This week I'm back in Ottawa for three days and then off to London on Thursday and I finish the week in Kitchener. Nice to have Nancy back at home after a tough week looking after five grandchildren while their parents were in Mexico for a week long break. This week Nancy needs a break.

Halifax, NS November 14, 2010

Easy week last week. I was home and teaching in the Toronto area. Taught my Excel seminars on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Wednesday and Thursday I got a break and got caught up on office and legal stuff. I'm pretty well up to date now. 

This week I head east to Halifax. It's PD week for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia and I'm doing three days of Excel seminars for them on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Home Wednesday night and in the office on Thursday, when I hope to get completely caught up on my partnership work. Thursday night I flight to Ottawa to teach a seminar on Friday and then fly home Friday night. Easy week.

Vancouver, BC October 24, 2010

Last week was the week from hell that I get once or twice a year. Started the week with Accounting Technology seminar series events in London and Toronto on Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday night I flew to Vancouver to do a precon seminar for the Annual Sage Simply Accounting conference. Then Wednesday night it was the red eye back to Toronto. Nancy picked me up at the airport and I headed to eastern Toronto to do one of my Excel seminars. In the evening Nancy and I drove to Sarnia where a did a conference keynote on Friday. Back in the car for the drive to London. Nancy dropeed me off at the airport so I could fly back to Vancouver to do a session on Saturday at the Sage Simply conference. Fortunately these kinds of weeks don't happen very often.

This week is a little easier. I fly to Winnipeg today. Tomorrow I teach an Excel seminar and then for the rest of the week we finish the Accounting Tecnology seminar series with seminars in Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary, Victoria and Vancouver. The good news is that Nancy is joinging me to help with the seminar administration.

Last week we kicked off the annual fall Accounting Technology seminars series. We started in Burlington and then moved on to Moncton, Halifax, Montreal and Ottawa. This is always a fun series of seminars as we get to meet many old friends. This is the 18th year that I have been doing this and attendance is through the roof.

This week I get a break as I'm only teaching on Tuesday and Saturday in Toronto. The rest of the week I'll be heads down finalizing our last two new courses for this fall. Then Saturday we do the Toronto East version of the Account Technology seminar series.

Last week I headed west to Kelowna, BC to do the second week of my series of Power Excel for Simply Accounting Users seminars. After Kelowna I moved on to Victoria, Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary. The numbers were great, things went well and I got great reviews. The attendees really liked the new Simply Accounting Intelligence report writer.

Kelowna, BC September 26, 2010

Last week I headed east to Moncton, NB to kick off my annual series of Power Excel for Simply Accounting Users seminars. After Moncton I moved to Halifax, Ottawa, London and Kitchener. This week I'm back out west to do my Power Excel seminars in  Kelowna, Victoria, Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary. Back home late Friday night and will spend the weekend getting ready for our 13 city Accounting Technology seminar series which kicks of on October 4th in Burlington. Going to be a really busy October.

Calgary, AB September 13, 2010

All good things have to come to an end. Last week was the last of three wonderful weeks at out cottage north of Toronto. While I got a lot of editing and prep work done, it was still very relaxing. We came back from the cottage on Saturday as Nancy had a big family get together, which I, unfortunately missed. Nancy treated me to a theater ticket for the live showing of The Last Night at the Proms, which is a favorite of mine.

This week it's back to work as I have a seminar to do in Calgary and another one in Edmonton. To finish the week I'm doing a conference keynote in Winnipeg. It's been a great summer but I'm eager to get back on the road. I certainly enjoy what I'm doing.

Lake of Bays, ON September 4, 2010

We spent the first part of the week at home in Brampton dealing with business matters. We came back to the cottage on Wednesday and we're here now until next Saturday.It's quiet here and it will get even quieter tomorrow when the tourists head home at the of the Labor Day weekend. I'm still working at the cottage and with high speed Internet I can work just about anywhere. I'm finalizing our new courses for the fall and working on a couple of new ones. I head out for coffee and the newspaper at 7 every day. Then it's on the computer for the rest of the morning. Nancy and I usually plan an excursion each afternoon. Last week we headed to the village of Dorset for an ice cream cone. Today we had coffee with my sister who lives year round up here.

This week it will be more of the same. Nancy's daughter Jennifer and her boy friend are here for a couple of days. Tuesday, we'll celebrate Nancy's birthday with dinner at a local golf course. There rest of the time I'll be hard at work.
